Welding Hose
Mercia International Products offers a comprehensive range of approved welding hose assemblies in standard and custom lengths. Assemblies intended for light work have a 1/4" (6mm) or 5/16" (8mm) inside diameter and for heavy duty welding and cutting operations assemblies are supplied with an inside diameter of 3/8" (10mm).
The basic welding hose connection consists of a nut insert and check valve. The nut has threads on the inside that match up with the male inlet and outlet on the torch and regulator. The insert slides inside the hose and is held in place by a ferrule that has been crimped. The nut is loose and can be turned by hand or a wrench to tighten the threaded nut onto the equipment. The check valve is an important safety item which prevents reverse gas flow, eliminating potential flash-backs and damage to equipment. All check valves have been tested in accordance with BS EN 730. When ordering, make sure you specify the type of gas, connection size, and thread design. The check valves should be installed between the torch connection and the hose.
